Sometimes, yes, depending on the task and spec of the machine. The reasons why a cloud-based virtual machine is superior to a physical machine are its reliability, security and zero maintenance. Additional points in favour of using a VM rather than a physical machine are: scalability, no capital layout, space saving and a reduced need for in-house IT wizards – Venom IT provides full support.
For certain applications (such as intensive graphic/ 3D design) the VM will typically be somewhat slower than a custom-built physical machine, however, many of our customers (such as architects and designers) feel that the trade-off between the slightly lower speed and the much better security and accessibility makes it worth switching to VM.
