How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for a variety of reasons that we detail below. From time to time we test new features and make subtle changes to the way that the site is delivered. We use a third-party cookie, called _lfuuid. The cookie is accepted or declined by selecting the relevant option in the consent banner that will appear upon your first visit to our website. The cookie allows a website to track visitor behaviour on the sites on which the cookie is installed. Tracking is performed anonymously until a user identifies himself by submitting a form. The cookie is persistent for 10 years before it expires.

We also use social media buttons and/or plugins on this site that allow you to connect with your social network in various ways. For these to work the following social media sites including Twitter. In short, Twitter will set cookies through our site which:

Privacy Notice

As part of our privacy notice, Venom IT Ltd is a Cloud hosting and cybersecurity wholesaler with offices in Manchester. This privacy notice explains what we do with any personal data that you submit to us when using our website.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect the personal information you provide when you fill out a contact form on our website, place an order with us, sign up to our mailing lists or participate in one of our competitions. Typically, the data we collect is available below:

  • Orders – Full name, job title, work email, work phone, work address, mobile number;
  • Web Form – Full name, job title, work phone;
  • Mailing List – Full name, work email;
  • Competitions – Full name, job title, work email, work phone, mobile number;
  • Data Stored in the UK (Venom IT, ConnectWise), USA (ConnectWise), and New Zealand (DeskDirector).

How will we use your personal information in our privacy notice?

We will use your personal data to help us manage your account and to send you the information you request. If you choose to sign up to one of our mailing lists, you will receive emails relating to the list you joined, as well as occasional relevant marketing emails. You may opt out of any list at any time should you wish. Exercising your Right to be Forgotten is not, however, an absolute right. Certain regulatory requirements or data retention legislation may supersede your Right to be Forgotten. Once you do opt-out, your name goes on to a suppression list and we will not contact you again for marketing purposes.

Perhaps you fill out a contact form to request a quote or more information about one of our services. Accordingly, we’ll only contact you about that specific service unless you request additional information. Moreover, we will not automatically add your name to any mailing lists. And we will also delete your data during our biannual data purge, unless you become a client. But if you do become a client, your data will be kept for a minimum of 6 years in line with HMRC rules for Limited Companies found online.

How do we protect your information?

As cybersecurity specialists, Venom IT has above-average systems in place to protect your data. We implement a variety of security measures when a user submits their information, such as frequent malware scanning, military-grade firewalls and strict access control. Those with access rights must keep the information confidential at all times. We also use email filtering, monitoring, penetration testing and security patching to keep your data safe from breaches.

Third-party providers such as Autotask ConnectWise, HubSpot and MailChimp have been vetted to uphold similar high standards of data protection.

Can you access your information?

You have the right to request a copy of the information at any time. If you would like to know some or all of the information that we hold about you, simply email or write to us with your request. We will provide the information within one month. This service is free, however, in circumstances such as repetitive or spurious requests, or requests requiring disproportionate effort, there may be a charge.

Do we share your information?

We respect your privacy and will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your specific permission. Venom IT will not share your information with anyone else unless you give us specific permission to, or unless we are required to do so by law, as stipulated in the laws of England & Wales.

What about cookies?

Venom IT does use cookies but not for tracking purposes. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since each browser is different, look at your browser’s help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you do turn cookies off, some of the features that make your site experience more efficient, may not function properly.

Opting out

If you want us to remove your details from our database, please feel free to contact us. If you wish to be taken off any of our mailing lists, please use the unsubscribe link in an email from each list any one of the emails you have received.

Children

We do not collect Personal Information from anyone we know to be under 13 years of age. If we are made aware that information is or receive a submission by a child under 13 years of age, we’ll delete this information.
